Photo-a-day | Week 4

25|365. Silly faces on the trampoline

26|365. This kids got pedalling skills.

27|365. My beautiful birthday flowers.

28|365. The beginnings of the slow and painful process of packing up an entire house.

30|365. Getting ready for school.

32|365. Sometimes I'm woken at 4 a.m. by my co-sleeping baby, who is no longer sleeping, but being drawn to the light like a little moth in the night.

33|365. I have given up trying to keep him away from the toilet. Instead I sanitise it pretty much every hour. Cleanest toilet and best toy ever.

Photo-a-day | Week 3

16|365. Tess's window. A few of her favourite things.

16|365. Blue Monday, the third Monday of January – supposedly the most depressing day of the year, when we in Britain are at our most melancholy.  Christmas is over, with little to look forward to, a hammered bank account, a bulge around the waist, gloomy weather, a return to work, already failed New Years Resolutions. (Does not apply to Americans who usually have the third Monday in January off, thanks to MLKJ).

17|365. Outside play after school.

18|365. Daddy has been working evening shifts this week, which means we get to have him around during daylight hours. We've put him to work on some outside clean up!

19|365. In love with that gap-tooth smile.

20|365. Her signature hair style. Messy braids, one on each side.

21|365. Running on cobblestones. One of those things that is such a normal part of their childhood, but so completely different from my own childhood.

Photo-a-day | Week 2

7|365. We are making progress in the continuous saga of potty training this four year old. The kid will actually WILLINGLY wear a pair of underpants now! Hurray!  Slow and steady and in his own time is how he likes to get things done.

8|365. Tess has become such a great little reader. I often ask her to read books to her little brother while I get the baby to bed. I love seeing them snuggled up together and hearing her read, and Lewis asking her questions about the story.

10|365. Presents from someone we love in America!

11|365. In the baby buggy.

12|365. Testing boundaries

13|365. The baby bouncers, the baby swing, the Bumbo chair have all been sold or donated. Now it's the baby walker, and push along toys that I look forward to clearing out as this little guy continues to grow. I love all the gear that has made life with my three babies a little easier, but I can't help but look forward to never tripping over these bulky baby items ever again.

15|365.  Bedtime stalling antics!

Photo-a-day | Week 1

I'm sort of unofficially doing a photo-a-day for 2017. Unofficial means I'm allowing myself to miss a day (or week) now and again if I need to. I successfully did a 365 photo project back in 2011 when Tess was a baby, and now we really love looking back on those photos. Here's to capturing some beautiful moments in the life of this little family of mine.

1|365:  Owen loves the bath.  He was desperate to get in with his brother and sister.

2|365: Taking the tree down. Lewis was very helpful in removing ornaments and putting them in the box, and helping me wind up the lights.  Then Tess used the hand vacuum to get all the needles that had fallen to the floor.

3|365: I often send the kids to their dad when they are in need of medical attention (in this case, a sliver in the foot). Daddy is very patient and gentle with these things (much more so than me).

4|365. Came home from her friend's birthday party looking very cute and magical!

5|365: While sister was back at school, we treated ourselves to the only drive thru in town.

6|365:  Walking/biking to school in the rain. And so begins the most grey and wet (and depressing) time of the year.  These kids don't seem to mind though.

Christmas Walk at Basildon

A pretty little walk we did at Basildon Park during the Christmas break.

Christmas 2016

Wearing their new jammies they received last night on Christmas Eve.

This was all Lewis had on his Christmas list to Santa.  He was so excited!

An 'American Girl' type doll.  It was just what she wanted!

After opening gifts from Santa, we took a break from gift opening and made breakfast while the kids played with their Santa toys.

I've wanted this camera strap for a long time.  Thanks Miles!

Owen's first Christmas!
