Quiet Time

Brother & sis playing their froggy game on the tablet.  They would do this all day if I let them (and it's tempting - I get a lot done).  They are pretty good at navigating their way around that little screen.  These 21st Century kids.  

The mattress is sitting on the floor as we are in the process of getting a new bed, but we kind of love how cozy it makes our room feel.

Snowdrops

Snowdrops from our garden.  These little flowers are so lovely and delicate and grow in unexpected places - and in the middle of the winter.  It gives me hope that winter will one day be over.

Helping

Big sister is helping little brother put his shoes on.  It feels like they fight a lot, as children do at their age.  They are the best of friends though, and I'm grateful that moments like this are more common than the arguments.

Can't sleep without:  blankie, puppy, and froggy (pacifier)

Favorite Foods:  Milk, olives, pickles, chocolate

Favorite Books:  The Train to Timbuktu,  The Gruffalo

Favorite shows: Disney's Cars, Yo Gabba Gabba, In the Night Garden

Favorite Activities:  Puzzles, building sandcastles, playing hide-n-seek, train watching (we live near a train station)

What upsets him:  Anyone touching his toy cars, eating dinner, getting his teeth brushed, his robot shirt

What makes him happy:  Cuddles, tickles, and cake!

Music Composer

Tess had a tune in her head that she wanted to play on the piano (the tune to "open shut them, open shut them, give a little clap!")  She hummed the tune to me, and then I showed her which keys on the piano she needed to play to match her tune.  She than sat at the piano and practiced playing for a very long time until she had the tune just right.  This is the first time she has showed any interest in playing the piano.
